The Virtual Botanic Garden hosts a collection of 2690 botanical taxa (generally species, but in some cases down to subspecies, varieties or forma) of the Plantae, Fungi and Chromista kingdoms. Each taxon is presented with its hierarchical position and illustrated with pictures (total of 12250). Synonyms, links and literature references are given in most cases.
